Free seminars about buying a property and living in France

The French Property Exhibition seminar and panel programme has now been announced, with two days of free, practical sessions designed to help you plan every stage of buying property and building a life in France.

Across the weekend, expect expert talks on choosing the right region (and how to make sure it truly suits your lifestyle), a step-by-step guide to the French buying process from viewings to completion, and the legal decisions that matter from day one, including how you structure a purchase, French conveyancing, and what forced heirship can mean for UK families. There are also sessions focused on the money side, from French tax fundamentals (income, property, capital gains and inheritance) to healthcare and insurance, and a dedicated 2026 visa checklist covering the main routes and the latest updates.

Alongside the seminars, the editorial team will host live Q&A panels where you can put your questions directly to specialists. Panel themes include living and working in France (including business set-up and gîte plans), moving or retiring (visas, pensions and healthcare), the real cost of buying and renovating (fees, budgeting, mortgages and currency exchange), and a “beyond visas” relocating checklist covering removals, pets, driving licences and essential paperwork.
